William Gary "Bill" Kennedy, 70, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at a local hospital.
Bill was born May 7, 1953, in Norwalk, the son of Frank and Ruth (Penick) Kennedy. He was a veteran of U.S. Army, serving during Vietnam. Bill spent the majority of his working years in the confectionary industry and retired as Vice President of Operations at Palmer Candy Company. He enjoyed watching football and playing golf.
Bill is survived by his wife, Arlene; sons, Nick and Seth (Heather); stepson, Brandon (Katie); grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, Cole, Carsten, Cillian, Everett, Gabriel, Liam, Abigail, Rosalie, Byron, and Theodore; brother, Mike (Jeannie); sisters, Dianne (Walter), Patty (Joe), and Laura (James); and nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to Fisher House Foundation in Rockville, Maryland.

I worked at Palmer candy and always liked Bill. He was nice and considerate to all the people who worked there. I remember one winter a young boy who was catching the bus by
Palmer candy didn't have a winter coat and Bill went out and bought him one. people at work would say when he retires it won't be the same here and it wasn't. Condolences to his family and loved ones

I worked at Palmer Candy, when Bill was there. He was a wonderful boss, friend, and plant manager. I'm so sorry for your loss. He spoke of his family with much love. Bill will be missed by many.
