Willard
William "Billy Joe" Honaker, 87, a lifelong resident of Willard, died peacefully at The Willows at Willard Tuesday, June 10, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born August 23, 1937, in Magoffin County, Ivyton, Kentucky, the son of Raymond and Ressie (Collins) Honaker of North Fairfield.
He enjoyed gardening, yard work, and flowers, as well as camping trips, fishing, Country and Bluegrass music, square dancing, vacationing in Kentucky, Tennessee, and the Smoky Mountains, cooking cookouts, attending church, and spending time with his family. He was a great homemaker. He worked hard throughout his life to provide his children with things he didn't have when growing up. He was a 1957 graduate of North Fairfield High School. He was a 28-year employee of PMS Plastic Molders Supply of Norwalk. He and his wife, Irene, and daughter, Marge, were owners and operators of three Subways in Norwalk, Shelby, and Ontario, Ohio, for 25 years.
He is survived by his two children, Dallas Honaker of Willard and Marge Honaker of Florida; three grandchildren, Brooke (Nathan) Korbas of Shelby, Nick (Mikayla) Smith of Willard, and Abby Honaker of Shelby; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Ron Vanderpool of North Fairfield; and five great-grandchildren, Natalie, Brinley and Wesley Korbas of Shelby and Grayson and Theodore Smith of Willard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Honaker and Ressie (Collins) Honaker Joseph; two brothers, Ray and Robert Honaker; sister, Betty Honaker; stepfather, Homer Joseph; and his wife of 62 years, Irene Montgomery Honaker.
His family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice and The Willows at Willard for all the care given to their dad.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of his funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, with Pastor James Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at North Fairfield Cemetery in North Fairfield.
Memorial contribu-tions can be made to Southern Care Hospice.
