William "Lowell" Gibson

William "Lowell" Gibson, 78, of New London, passed away Sunday afternoon, Sept. 18, 2022, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.

Lowell was born Sept. 8, 1944, in New London, to the late Grace Lucille Fairchild and Vernon Lowell Gibson.

Lowell dropped out of high school to help run the family farm after an injury to his father. He would later receive his G.E.D. while serving in U.S Army. Lowell was a life-long farmer. The family farm has been passed down by many generations. Lowell was a member of Clarksfield Seventh-Day Adventist Church. In his spare time, Lowell enjoyed hunting, making maple syrup, and having breakfast with fellow farmers at Wildcat Café, including his good friend and neighbor, Barry Pickens.

Lowell is survived by four children, Jack Gibson of New London, Bonnie Gregory of Elyria, Andrew Gibson of New London, and Rachel Gibson of New London; two grandchildren, Olivia Rehm and William Rehm; and sister, Evelyn (Garry) Edler of Wakeman.

In addition to his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Atkinson) Gibson, who passed in 1984; and brothers, Robert Gibson and John "Hoot" Gibson.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, Ohio, 44851. Lowell's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at South Clarksfield Cemetery.
