1933 - 2025
Thomas B. Ashe, 92, passed away surrounded by his loving family at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Westfield on Sept 22, 1933 to the late Thomas and Mary (Mannix) Ashe. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School. He was an Airforce veteran serving during the Korean War from 1951 – 1955. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree from the University of Miami. Thomas worked as an operations manager for Office Depot for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Celtics fan. Tom was a daily jigsaw puzzler! Tom always had an Irish joke ready! Thomas leaves four children, Christine Hess and her husband Ralph of Wilbraham, Anne Marie Lefebvre and her husband Michael of West Springfield, Maureen Clark and her husband Kevin of South Hadley and Thomas M. Ashe and his partner Kelley Mickiewicz of Springfield; his grandchildren, Daniel and Ryan Hess, Lindsey Cunningham, Courtney Gately, Brianne Kauffman, Hannah Martin, Brennan, Shea, Nolan Clark, Kaleigh White and Thomas, Lauren and Alana Ashe and Joe, Gina and Jamie Mickiewicz. Thomas was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Ashe, and by his second wife, Sara Ashe; four brothers, Clem Ashe, John Ashe, James Ashe and Herbert Ashe and two sisters, Eileen Ashe and Maureen Wolf. The family would like to thank the Veterans Home of Holyoke (formerly the Soldiers Home) for all their compassionate care. Visiting hours will be held on Mon, Nov 3, 2025 from 4 to 7 pm at Sampson Chapel, of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Rd. Springfield. A Funeral Service will be held on Tues, Nov 4, 2025 at 11:30 am directly at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield with burial to follow with military honors at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104 or Friends of the Soldiers Home, P.O. Box 1338, Holyoke, MA 01041.
