Sylvia K. Pedersen, 81, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed on peacefully from this life to the next on June 15, 2022, at Norwalk Memorial Home. She was born on March 2, 1941, in Norwalk to the her mother, the late Edith I. (Backus) Woodside and late father Willard B. Woodside. A lifelong resident, she attended Norwalk High School and worked for many years at PMS Consolidated before her retirement.
A caring soul, Sylvia had a heart of gold and was a member of the Norwalk Presbyterian Church, often volunteering and assisting with the Age Exchange program and Huron County Humane Society. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, gardening, crocheting and time with her family and dogs.
Survivors include her children, Mark A. (Vicky) Ohly of Hilliard, OH, Debbie L. (Bob) Andrews of Norwalk, OH, Cheryl A. Murray of Lakewood, OH, and Susan A. (John) Old of Norwalk, OH; sister, Linda L. Thompson of Norwalk, OH; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Earl K. Pedersen in 2012, brother, Roland Woodside, son in-law, Jeffrey M. Murray, grandson, Joshua Murray, and loving dogs, Max and Cassie.
A memorial service will be held on June 28, 2022, at Norwalk First Presbyterian Church, 21 Firelands Blvd, Norwalk, OH 44857, on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Hodsden officiating. Inurnment will follow in Milan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the Norwalk First Presbyterian Church, Huron County Humane Society, or Pro Medica Hospice. so sorry for your loss, I remember the time when pete and sylvia me and rolly went to canada in their black Corvaire and had a lot of laughs and good time. memories are the best thing to have when you are older.I'll remember them always.
