Susan Inmon
Sep 10, 1949 - Dec 19, 2024
Greenwich
Susan Inmon, 75, of Greenwich, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, at The Laurels of New London. She was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Willard, the daughter of Buck and Anna Josephine (Slone) Hale. Susan was a lifelong resident of Greenwich until she moved to The Laurels almost nine years ago. She enjoyed her time at The Laurels and made many friends with staff and residents throughout her time there.
A dedicated employee, Susan worked for Kent Sporting Goods and Pioneer Rubber before she began a long career at Pepperidge Farm in Willard. Susan was lovingly referred to as Sue by her coworkers for thirty-six years until her retirement Oct. 1, 2015. After her retirement, she still enjoyed spending time with a group of her retired coworkers, eating out and enjoying one another's company.
A creative spirit, Susan enjoyed painting ceramics and coloring in her spare time. She also enjoyed reading and completing crossword puzzles, especially after moving to The Laurels, playing BINGO, participating in bell choir and attending Bible study there. However, the most important thing in Susan's life was her family. Those who knew her would say she had a special personality and a rare, beautiful soul that touched all she met. She was an incredibly hard-working and dedicated woman who cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She truly dedicated her life to those she loved most.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robin (Dan, Jr.) Hunt of Norwalk and Rachel (Mike) Stevens of Greenwich; grandchildren, Christine Horvath, Brittany Horvath, Cody (Ryan) Hunt, Brooke (Zac) Osborn and Haley (Kyle Shepherd) Tackett; great-grandchildren, Adriyana, Kennedy, Jersey, Zoey, Lux, Carter, Kyren, Kynlee, Avery, Josie, Wyatt, Corbin, Carter H., Stiles, Salem, and another great-grandchild on the way; along with a sister, Barb (Dennis) Bailey.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kayla Hunt; and brothers, Tim Hale and David (Barb) Hale.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 11-1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Greenwich with a funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Adkins officiating. Burial will take place at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
Eastman Funeral Homes of New London is honored to assist the family with their arrangements. The family would like to thank The Laurels of New London for the excellent care they provided Susan over the years and Southern Care Hospice, especially Nurse Madissen Arnold, for their care in her final days. Your kindness and empathy mean the world to the Inmon family, and they will never forget all that you have done for them and for Susan.
