Steven B. "Steve" Barman, 73, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023.
Steve was born July 12, 1950, in Norwalk, to Robert Sr. and Rachel (O'Dell) Barman. Steve grew up in Norwalk and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1969.
Steve was devoted to his wife, family, and Norwalk Furniture. After graduation, he began working there in the sanding department and over the years, became their Chief Industrial Engineer. When Steve wasn't at work, he could be found outside tinkering and fixing things. Music was the rhythm of his soul. Whether he was playing on his own drums or tuning in on the radio, his love for music was his constant companion. Steve was an avid fan of Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes and his enthusiasm for the teams never wavered.
Steve is survived by his wife, Barb (Lewis) Barman; children, Christopher (Kathy) Barman, Kevin (Gretchen) Barman Sr., Erik (Jennifer) Braddock, Rebecca (Ben) Newland, Clint (Kelly) Braddock, and Kimberly (Steven) Shuttlesworth; siblings, Doug (Alexis) Barman and Andi (Marv) Ott; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Robert Barman Sr.; mom, Rachel Barman; and brother, Robert Barman Jr.
Visitation for family and friends will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, until the time of Steve's funeral at 12 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk.
Donations in Steve's memory can be directed to Southern Care Hospice.
