Stephen J. "Steve" Baker, 69, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at Stein Hospice.

He was born Dec. 15, 1954, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Peter and Lois Baker.

Steve was a devout member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where his faith was important to him throughout his life. He was known for his memory and his kindness, which touched the lives of many within the parish and community.

Steve was a 1974 graduate of Huron High School. For many years, Steve worked at Marconi's Restaurant where he enjoyed working for the Martello family and with Janet Majoy. In his leisure time, he found joy in reading newspapers and history books, riding his bike around town, and stopping to chat with friends and neighbors.

Steve is survived by his sister, Ellen Baker of Huron; brothers, Chris (Karen) Baker of Huron, Charles Baker of Palm Springs, California, and Jerry (Corinne) Baker of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; nieces, Sarah Baker, Margaret (Tyler) Kerr, and Kathryn Baker; nephew, Gregory (Jordan) Baker; and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and niece and Goddaughter, Lauren Baker.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron, Ohio, 44839. Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron.
