Sharon D. DeWitt, 80, of Greenwich, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at Willows at Willard.

She was born Nov. 17, 1942, in Greenwich, to the late Naomi (Wolfe) and Robert Pettit. Sharon was a 1960 graduate of Greenwich High School and in later years, she served on the South Central School Board as vice president. She enjoyed gardening and feeding birds.

Sharon is survived by three sons, Bradley DeWitt of Willard, Matthew DeWitt of Katy, Texas, and Mark DeWitt of Greenwich; seven grandchildren, Adam, Natasha, Travis, Ellisha, Logan, Haley, and Taylor; 16 great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Richard Pettit of Greenwich and Donald Pettit of Syracuse, New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, David J. DeWitt, who died in 2012; and brother, Thomas Pettit.

Private family graveside services will be at a later date.
