Shannon Bomar-David Obituary

Shannon L. Bomar-David

Mar 4, 1970 - Aug 31, 2023

Delaware

Shannon L. Bomar-David, 53, of Collins, peacefully passed away after a long battle with cancer Friday, Aug. 31, 2023, at her home in Delaware, Ohio.

She was born March 4, 1970, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Roy S. (Sam) and Patricia A. (Sayles) Bomar. She began her lifelong career in law enforcement as a dispatcher at Milan Police Department while attending Terra Technical College to pursue her associate's degree in criminal justice. After graduating, she moved to Toledo and served on the tri-county drug task force. She then signed on to Columbus Police Department, most recently serving as a member of Columbus Mounted Police. She retired July 13, 2022, after 29 years of faithful service. She loved to travel to new places and meet new people. She was a lover of animals, especially horses, and loved spending time taking care of her "Sweet Baby Joy." She also enjoyed spending time with her kids, family, and wonderful friends.

She is survived by her son, Mason A. David; two daughters, Reese E. David and Reagan L. David of Delaware; parents, Roy S. Bomar and Patricia A. (Sayles) Bomar of Collins; brothers, Brett L. Bomar and Ryan A. Bomar of Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John W. and Rebecca L. (Sammons) Bomar and Melvin D. and Grace E. (Sly) Sayles.

Shannon's memorial gathering was Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, until the time of service at 12 p.m. at Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr., Delaware, with Pastor Kale Bougher officiating. A luncheon was provided at Snyder Rodman Funeral Center immediately following the service.

A celebration of life will be locally when a location, date, and time can be determined.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Western Reserve Athletic Boosters Stadium Project.

Shannon is peacefully riding her 4-H Palomino mare "Lady" in the lush green pastures of heaven. She was a good friend and I will always cherish the fun times we had in 4-H.
