Funeral Service Broadcast for Scottie Drury
Gary “Scottie” Drury, 75, of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Anderson County, Scottie built a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a quiet, steady strength that carried him through every chapter of his journey.
He was deeply loved by his wife, Donna Drury, and was a proud father to Todd Drury and Ashley Drury. He also shared a close and meaningful bond with Leony Barroso, who held a special place in his heart.
Scottie was a proud graduate of Anderson County High School, and his strong work ethic was evident early in life. As a child, he helped in his father’s business, Drury’s Body Shop, learning the values that shaped his character. After high school, he continued building his career with Mathew’s Construction, followed by work at Sikes Carpet. When Sikes left Lawrenceburg, Scottie joined General Cable, where he devoted 36 years of loyal and respected service.
After retirement, Scottie stayed active at Wild Turkey Trace Golf Course, where he enjoyed mowing and tending to the grounds he loved. Outside of work, Scottie lived life with warmth and enthusiasm. He was an avid golfer, a card player, and a devoted University of Kentucky fan, always cheering on his Wildcats.
Above all, Scottie was known for his kindness, easygoing nature, and the steady presence that made people feel at home in his company. He gave generously of his time, loved deeply, and left a lasting impact on his family, friends, and community. He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
Scottie was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Paul Drury; his brother Eddie Drury; and his sister-in-law Sue Drury.
He is survived by his brothers Connie Drury, Larry Drury (Billie), and Mark Drury (Boday); his sister Charlotte Drury (Dudley); as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly.
He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Ginger, who was a faithful companion.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Noal Cotton Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. till time of service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
His nieces and nephews will also serve as pallbearers, honoring the deep bond they shared with their uncle.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators, 643 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601, in appreciation for the care and compassion they provide.
