Sandra Wright Obituary

Sandra Lee Wright

Mar 6, 1948 - Mar 20, 2022

Wellington

This is for those she inspired and those who missed it earlier.

Sandra Lee Wright, 74, of Wellington, passed away March 20, 2022, at Fisher Titus Hospital. She was born March 6, 1948, in Elyria and graduated from Firelands High School in 1966, where she was active in band and was a majorette. She even taught baton lessons to little girls and had a mini-majorette group. She grew up on a farm, was a Girl Scout, and part of 4-H. She enjoyed camping, water skiing, and traveling, and her first car was a 1970 MGB. She received a bachelor's degree in Education in 1970 from Ashland College.

She taught 30 years for Grafton Elementary Kindergarten in the same building and same room. She was a member of Midview Teacher's Association. She retired in 2000 with a retirement party at Mountain Jack's in Elyria with other teachers attending. She also enjoyed writing poems for special occasions, played piano and accordion, worked at Board of Election polls for several years, liked to do crafts, and most of all, loved all of God's creatures furry and feathery. One of her favorite little students, Jenna Maley, has stayed in touch throughout the years and even gave Mrs. Wright a 74th birthday party with decorations, crafts, fingerpainting, and had Marco's pepperoni pizza and Pepsi, which were her favorites, and she wore a pink crown. Jenna flew in all the way from Arizona for this event.

She has blessed so many lives, bringing joy and kindness to everyone who was lucky enough to cross her path. She had a heart of gold for teaching and helping others. She loved nature and always looked forward to spring and fall.
