Sandra Lee "Sandy" Gerber, 84, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024.

She was born Sept. 3, 1940, in Norwalk, to Leonard and LuAlta (Green) Gerber

Sandy attended Wakeman Congregational Church in Wakeman with her family. She was a graduate of Wakeman High School in 1958, where she was active in 4-H and played in the high school band. She attended The Ohio State University in Columbus and then made central Ohio her home.

Sandy is survived by her sister, Brenda (Tom) Friend; nieces and nephews; and good friend, Barbara Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Gerber and LuAlta (Green) Gerber; sisters, Maryann Gerber (infant) and Linda Frederick; and brother, Carl Gerber.

Sandy retired from Lucent Technologies on Broad Street in Columbus where she worked for 30 years. She worked as a Red Coat for Ohio State for over 20 years. Sandy loved animals and she worked with Pilot Dogs For The Blind. She also loved gardening and flowers.

Sandy was an active member of Turnpoint Apostolic Church since 1997.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, until the time of Sandy's funeral to honor her life at 11 a.m. at Turnpoint Apostolic Church, 7718 Groveport Road, Groveport, Ohio, 43125. Interment will follow at Lithopolis Cemetery, 4365 Cedar Hill Road, Canal Winchester, Ohio, 43110.

Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 West Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester, is providing services for the family.
