Sandra Dutton (nee Cottrell), 74, of Lorain, died Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born Feb. 16, 1949, in Spencer, West Virginia, and was a Wakeman resident for the past 43 years, recently moving to Lorain.

Sandra worked for Epic Technologies, Norwalk, in customer service, retiring in 2011.

She was a member of Harbourtown Community Church. She enjoyed gardening and driving around to look at the trees in the fall. During those drives, she liked to stop at shops and go to garage sales. She especially loved her family and they always came first.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Dutton of Wakeman; daughters, Christine (David) Ash, Darla (Christopher) Dailey of Columbus, and Kelly (David) Thompson of Vermilion; grandchildren, Charity (Brett) Nichols, Faith, Hope, and Samuel Thompson, Justine, Nate, (Alexsis) and Olivia Ash, and Brandon and Adelaide Dailey; great-grandchildren, Levi and Lily Nichols, Colton Gray, Dylan Newbury, Jerimiah Rivera, and Emberlee Ash; and sister, Madeline Whited.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Eupha (nee Smith) Cottrell; brother, Gary Cottrell; and sister, Maxine Cottrell.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, until the time of Sandra's service at 11 a.m. at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Pastor Jim Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Wakeman Township Cemetery.
