Ruth Mary Wilhelm, 95, of Monroeville, passed away Sunday evening, June 29, 2025, after an extended stay at Norwalk Memorial Home.

Ruth was born August 15, 1929, in Havana, Ohio, to the late Theodore & Loretta Long. Ruth moved to Monroeville after she married Leonard "Pete" Wilhelm October 1, 1949. They were married for 63 years.

Ruth was an amazing mother to her nine children. She was an excellent homemaker and, took care of her household with pride and displayed great love and passion raising her children. Ruth was an excellent baker, especially known for her lemon meringue pie. She also loved to play bingo and enjoyed camping with her husband.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Rosary Altar Society. Ruth was a volunteer at Fisher-Titus Hospital, where she had over 9,000 hours of service. She also volunteered at Carriage House.

She is survived by her children, Diane (Larry) Schafer of Norwalk, Robert (Kim) Wilhelm of Monroeville, Julie Click of Willard, Kenneth (Susie) Wilhelm, Dennis (Sandy) Wilhelm, Alan Wilhelm, all of Monroeville, Rita (Gary) Turner of Columbus, Lucy (Gerry) Bollenbacher of Bellevue, and Karen (Keith) Gerber of Monroeville; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren with another due in September; one sister, Grace Stang of Monroeville; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Wilhelm of Norwalk and Gerry Wilhelm of Monroeville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Wilhelm, who proceeded her in death August 15, 2013; her parents, Theodore & Loretta Long; her two brothers, Albert and Paul Long, son-in-law, Gary Click; and daughter-in-law, Tonya Wilhelm.

The Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Following the Rosary, friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. Fr. Charles Obinwa will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.

In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville, Ohio 44847 or SouthernCare Hospice, 9501 US Highway 250 N, Suite 2, Milan, Ohio 44846.

The family wishes to thank Norwalk Memorial Home and SouthernCare Hospice for the love and care given to Ruth.

I am so sorry to see that Mrs Wilhelm has passed. Her picture is absolutely beautiful.
She was such a sweet lady. Always kind and considerate of everyone.
May she Rest in Eternal Peace. I am sure she is happy to be reunited with her husband.
