Robert W. Schrader, 94, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Providence Care Center.
Robert was born Nov. 12, 1928, in Sandusky, to William and Lucille (Ohlemacher) Schrader.
Robert graduated from Sandusky High School in 1946. He proudly served his country as a veteran of World War II in U.S. Army, stationed as a military policeman in Japan. He was then employed by the U.S. Post Office, retiring in 1987. Robert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sandusky, Elks Lodge #285, AMVETS Post 17, American Legion Post 83, VFW Post 2529 in Sandusky, and Huron Eagles Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading or listening to audiobooks, gardening, golfing, fishing, visiting Las Vegas, and most of all, spending time with friends and family.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Lori (Matt) Koch of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Julie (Kevin) Hilderband of Brownsburg, Indiana; sons, William (Nancy) Schrader of Akron, John Schrader of Sandusky, and Tim Schrader of Sandusky; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita J. Schrader; and sister, Marjorie Ann Speer.
Visitation for friends will be 9 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2023, until the time of Robert's funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky, with Fr. Zach Brown. Private burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.

Condolences Schrader family. Bob was a dear friend to my Dad to the very end. Their phone calls through the pandemic and his fight with cancer gave him much joy and brought him closer to the home (Sandusky) he missed so much. Be in peace Bob.
