Robert P. Raschke, 92, of Huron and formerly of Sandusky passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.

He was born June 10, 1932, in Clyde, the son of Arthur C. and Martha H. (Martin) Raschke.

Bob was a 1950 graduate of Bellevue High School and a 1955 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. He served in the U.S. Army, assigned to Brook Army Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. It was there that he met his future wife Laura Vaughn, and they married in Lufkin, Texas in 1959. Bob and Laura moved to Sandusky in 1960, and Bob proudly served the area as a pharmacist for 54 years. For many of those years Bob and Laura owned the former Medical Center Pharmacy on Cleveland Road, Sandusky.

Bob was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Sandusky, where he served on various church committees. He was a long time Stephen Minister, a member of the Bedlington Terrier Club of America, serving on the rescue committee. Bob was also a member of Ohio State Alumni Association, College of Pharmacy Alumni Association, a 50 year plus member of Perseverance Lodge No. 329, F.&A.M., a 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo, The Singara Grotto, The Car Coddlers Club of Ohio, Erie County Humane Society, and American Legion Post #83.

Bob enjoyed restoring antique furniture, especially old clocks. He also loved the Cleveland Indians (Guardians).

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Laura Vaughn Raschke; one daughter, Lorna H. (Clifford "Bud") Spaulding; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ben Martin Raschke; and his parents.

The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024 until the time of Perseverance Lodge Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 214 E. Jefferson Street, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.

Robert's Memorial Service will follow. The Rev. Ted Buehl and The Rev. Doug Winner will officiate. Military honors will follow the services. His burial will be at Perkins Cemetery, Sandusky at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to Trinity United Methodist Church or Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.

Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky has been entrusted with arrangements.

Laura and Lorna sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I have been friends with Lorna for around 40 years. Bob and Laura were always welcoming when I came over. Will miss your Dad's smile.
