Robert Joseph Doyle

Wakeman
Robert Joseph "Bob" Doyle, 85, of Wakeman, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, at Stein Hospice.
He was born March 15, 1938, in Lorain, to Charles and Evah (Gfell) Doyle. Bob married Cora (Yates) Doyle on Dec. 16, 1968. They were very happily married for 55 years.
Bob graduated from Lorain High School. He was an electrician and member of IBEW Local 129. In 1976, he successfully started his own company, Northern Electric, Inc., performing commercial and industrial work. Bob proved to be a successful and talented entrepreneur. Amercado, Inc. was the first company in the United States to enter the natural gas market after deregulation, selling gas to Sears Tower, several hospitals, and other large facilities and factories around the country. He successfully established AHP, Inc, Riveredge Racquetball Club, and Keltic Enterprises, Inc. He owned and developed land in Arkansas. He retired in 1999 and began his favorite job, a full-time babysitter for his grandchildren, Zak and Katie.
He loved his family and his brothers with the fierceness of an Irishman. He enjoyed his dogs, blues concerts, and the woods. One of his greatest joys was purchasing land in Berlin Heights that allowed him to make the family farm, once again, whole. He had an unwavering belief in the holy trinity, in the oneness of 3. He, along with his 13 brothers, proudly wear a shamrock tattoo on their forearms. The 3 leaves of the shamrock represent the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cora Doyle; daughters, Kelly (Matthew) Reed, Kerry (Christopher) Massie, and Peggy (Warren) Johnson; son, Patrick (Valerie) McGowan-Doyle; grandchildren, Zachary Reed, Catherine Massie, Stephanie and Paul Warren, and Maebh and Mary Clare McGowan-Doyle; and brothers, Michael Doyle, Michael Flaherty, Rickie Miller, Kenny Arendt, and Ricky Sherring.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evah (Gfell) Doyle; son, Terrence Doyle; brother, James Doyle; sister, Jeanne Krenek; and brothers, Butchy Heiffner, Terry Pinter, Kenny Caiata, Danny Bloodsworth, Danny Kalo, David Thomas, and Joey Arendt.
