Richard A. Kiser, 88, passed away peacefully at Parkvue nursing home, Sandusky.
He was a veteran of U.S. Army/National Guard. His family and friends will remember him as a hard-working, loving family man who enjoyed repairing old cars, boating, fishing, and dining out at his favorite restaurants.
He is survived by his children, Khristina Kiser-Ortman, Kelly S. (Mark) Zakerski (Kiser), and Case R.T. Kiser; five grandchildren, Ashley (Trevor) McCauley, Michael (Holly) Zakerski, Richard Ortman, Lindsay Zakerski, and Caroline Ortman; three great-grandchildren, Rylie, Ophelia, and Murphy; sister, Beverly K. (John) Veith; sister-in-law, Carol Kiser; and nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Carole S. Kiser (Thom); and brother, Donald Kiser.
A private memorial service will take place.
In lieu of cards and flowers, contributions can be made in the name of Richard A Kiser to Parkvue Health Care, 3800 Boardwalk Blvd., Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, American Legion Post 527, P.O. Box 527, Milan, Ohio, 44846, or Leonard J. Thom Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Julie Bittinger, 407 Decatur St., Sandusky, Ohio, 44870.
Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, Huron, is assisting family with arrangements.

Richard was an amazing man. Didn't know him long but took care of him for awhile. Always in a great mood. Had an amazing family who was always with him. He will be missed. Who's the man? Who's the boss? :)

I have so many fond memories with Dick and Carole, in fact they were the impetus to us discovering Carolina Temple Apts. in Wrightsville Beach, NC in 1972. Rest in peace Dick. You were such an incredibly talented man and will be missed by those who knew you.

I agree, Dick was a hardworking man. I first knew Dick when he worked for Sears. In the early 1990's I moved across the street from Dick & Carole. He was always willing to give me help or advice working on that century old house. My heartfelt condolences to the entire family.
