Ramona Grace Burd of Emporia, Kansas, passed on December 17, 2024, at Flint Hills Care Center. She was 95 years old.
Ramona was born on July 26, 1929, in Hartford, Kansas, the daughter of George and Margaret Lucile (Rich) Hodges. She married Ira (Bud) Burd, her husband of 34 years on March 20, 1948, in Emporia, Kansas.
Survivors include sons Ron (Josie) Burd, Wichita, KS; Craig (Lois) Burd, Emporia, KS; David Burd, Kansas City, KS; daughters Jan (Randy) Gerstner, Emporia, KS; Diane (Jeff) Eldridge, Overland Park, KS; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; brothers Duane (Marilyn) Hodges, Belle Plain, KS and Dale (Norma) Hodges, Emporia, KS.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bud, who passed in September 1982 and their son Jerry Lee who passed in December 1948.
Memorial contributions can be made to Emporia Friends of the Zoo and can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State Street, Emporia, Kansas, 66801. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Hartford Cemetery, 2286 Highway 90, Hartford, Kansas 66854, following the service.

Ned and I got to know and enjoy Ramonas company during their meals at Flint Hills. She was a lovely lady and will be missed.
