Peggy A. Ritchie, 78, of Norwalk, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, September 4, 2025. She was born March 19, 1947, in Galion, to Dewey and Kathleen (Merwine) Summerfield, and attended Norwalk High School.
Peggy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Trips and going out to dinner with her loving husband of over 61 years, Walter G. Ritchie, built cherished memories. Following and supporting her children and grandchildren's academic and athletic endeavors was a passion of hers.
Peggy cleaned for numerous area businesses for many years, including Citizens Bank, Norwalk Clinic, GTE Telephone Company, Battles Insurance Agency, R&D, and Ernsthausen Recreation Center.
In addition to her husband of over 61 years, Walter G. Ritchie, Peggy is also survived by their children, Gary L. (Renee) Ritchie of Dayton, Robin A. (Larry) Risner of Norwalk, Brenda K. (Brian) Moore of Norwalk, and Walter "Wally" G. (Vickie) Ritchie of Norwalk; her brother, Ronald L. Summerfield of Kentucky; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and uncle, John Summerfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dewey James Ritchie.
Friends and family are invited to her visitation from 10 a.m. - noon Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Funeral service will begin at noon, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
