The family of Pauline Kuebler regrets to announce her passing Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022.

A resident of Avon Lake for most of her life, Pauline Kathryn Bick was born June 18, 1925, in Monroeville, one of three daughters and three sons of Otto and Elsa Bick. She wed Dr. Denis Linn Kuebler on Sept. 1, 1952, and they remained happily married for over six decades until his passing in Dec., 2012.

She is survived by four children, Carolinn, Christopher, Gregory and his wife, Amy, and Mary-Kathryn and her husband, Daniel; five grandchildren, Maximilian, Augustus, Elizabeth, Lucas, and Benjamin; and by her first great-grandson, John Edwin.

Graduating from St. Vincent's School of Nursing in Toledo, Pauline became a registered nurse and served in U.S. Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She completed Western Reserve University's Public Health Nursing program and earned a B.Sc. in Nursing from Thomas Edison State College. After the war, she worked as a public health nurse for Cuyahoga and Huron counties and City of Milwaukee Health Departments, and later as an emergency room nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lorain. In 1968, Pauline joined Cleveland Public School System as a school nurse, where for the next 25 years she tended to the health and well-being of countless children. For her long and generous service, Pauline was named Ohio School Nurse of the Year in 1985, and upon her retirement in 1993, was given commendations by both Cleveland Public School District and Mayor Michael R. White.

Pauline was an inspiration to a generation of nurses and healthcare professionals. Everyone whose life was touched by her mourns her passing, but celebrates the legacy she leaves behind, of a life well and lovingly lived.

Pauline's family will receive friends for visitation 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, Ohio, 44012.
