N. "Zoey" Senghas

Nichole "Zoey" Senghas was born June 3, 2012, to Nicholas Senghas and Cynthia Jackson.

She was dealt a difficult hand from the start, being diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome (a rare genetic disorder) by 18 months, which caused her lifelong distress. Determined not to let it overcome her, she strived to be the greatest human being on the planet. Told she would never walk but beat that by age three. She was often found running around with her younger brother Brady Senghas. The two of them had a bond like no other. Zoey's greatest gift was her smile, it would light up any room and could instantly bring a smile to your face. Although she never spoke, you knew instantly how much she cared for you just by her smile. Combined with her smile was her gift of hugs and cuddles. If she knew you, she hugged you; it was the most warming hug you would ever receive. Zoey loved the water, whether it was swimming, bathing, or just playing in the sink. If there was a pool around, she was in it; She also loved technology, whether it was a phone, iPad, or even for verbal communication. She defied her lack of fine motor skills and thrived using her devices, such as taking selfies and watching videos.

Zoey tragically left us Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, in the arms of her mother who sacrificed her life to go with Zoey.

She is survived in life by her father; older brother, Nathan Jackson, younger brother, Brady; grandparents, Ed and Paula Senghas; great-grandparents, Clarence and Victoria Harshman; aunt Kari Anne Jackson; cousins Joy, Caleb and Hope Jackson; uncle Fred Senghas, uncle Chad, aunt Sarah Senghas; and cousins, Jack and Brooke Senghas.

Public calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at Toft Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Steet, Wakeman. A Celebration of Life will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Whiskyville Golf Club, 9488 Leavitt Rd, Elyria.
