Milton Smith Obituary

Milton Smith

Jun 25, 1934 - Dec 15, 2023

Norwalk

Milton Smith of Norwalk passed away Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He was born June 25, 1934, in Norwalk, to Leon and Verna (Bick) Smith. He worked at the former Shellar Globe, Mayflower, and Motor Panels in Norwalk, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Norwalk Eagles Aerie #711.

He mostly enjoyed watching and supporting his son coach basketball at St. Paul for 32 years and attending his grandchildren's activities and sporting events. He could always be found sitting behind the bench in the Convocation Center with his family cheering on the Flyers. He also loved watching Cleveland Cavaliers and Indians, Ohio State, and Cleveland Browns.

After moving in with his family more than four years ago, he could be found riding around in the neighborhood and in his former neighborhood on his 3-wheeled bike. He enjoyed talking, getting the latest scoop, and socializing with all.

He is survived by his son, Michael (Kelly) Smith of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Connor and Reanne (Montgomery) Smith, Elizabeth Smith of Cleveland, and Treg Smith and Danielle Smith, both of Norwalk; and his very first great-granddaughter, Saige Smith.

Milton was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Smith; father, Leon Smith; mother, Verna (Bick) Smith; brothers, Carleton Smith, Alvin Smith, and Clifford Smith; and sister, Janet Groff.

Milton's celebration of life will be 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Interment will be at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Norwalk.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the St. Paul Athletic Department, 93 E. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, 44857.
