Mary Margaret (McKenna) Trujillo, 69, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at her home.

Mary is survived by her brothers, Chuck (Peg) McKenna and Joe McKenna. In addition, a niece, Christie (Matthew) Mullen and a nephew, Robbie (Brittany) McKenna.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joey Trujillo; brothers, Jim, Bob and Paul McKenna; sister, Ann McKenna; and parents, James and Berniece McKenna.

Mary was born May 4, 1956, in Sandusky, to James and Berniece McKenna. She attended St. Mary's High School and graduated in 1974. She earned her bachelor's degree in education from Bowling Green State University and later earned her master's degree.

Mary taught elementary classes at St. Mary's of Sandusky for seven years before moving to Colorado, where she met her husband, Joey. She continued to teach in the Denver School System for 30 years, retiring in 2015.

Mary enjoyed her life with her husband, Joey, who took very good care of Mary until his untimely death two years ago. She would occasionally snow ski, fish, and enjoy sporting activities. Mary had a loving soul who always looked at the positive side of life. Mary will be remembered for her explosive laugh and warm smile. She loved teaching and encouraging her students and was a devout Catholic who loved the Lord. She will be missed by her family and friends.
