Mary Ann (Bauer) Rospert, 87, of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at The Willows at Bellevue.
She was born August 21, 1937, in Norwalk to the late Oliver W. and Bertha R. (Schaffer) Bauer. She attended St. Paul High School, met her husband, Gene, and moved to Illinois, where they raised five children. She was devoted to her religion, and attended catholic churches in every community she lived, and after Gene's retirement in 1994, they returned to Norwalk. She was a friend to many and was very sociable, spending the last 10 years at The Willows at Bellevue, where she continued to make friends.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Sue) Rospert of Willowbrook, Illinois, Patricia (Mark) Wanner of Westmont, Illinois, Trina (Tim) McIlrath of Milan, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Rospert of Elmhurst, Illinois, Matthew (Leslie) Rospert of Willowbrook, Illinois; grandchildren, Dana (Garrett) Zikis, Lauren (Rafael) Rivera, Mitch (Dorothy Cuenca) McIlrath, Kirk (Kyle Pappalardo) Perecich, Chad (Katlyn) Rospert, Sarah (Diego) Robledo, Alexa (Nick Wright) McIlrath, Morgan (Claudio Sorrentino) Rospert, Devan (Jake) Magers, Luke Rospert, and Jordan (Jack Villarreal) Rospert; also survived by her great-grandchildren, Rafael Rivera III, Isaac Rivera, Dominic Rivera, Wyatt Zikis, Graham Robledo and Eloise Robledo; and her brother, George (Judy) Bauer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceed in death by her husband, Eugene "Gene" C. Rospert in 2020; siblings, John "Jack" Bauer, James Bauer, and Aurthur Bauer.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Private interment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Bellevue.
