Mark Zezeck Obituary

Mark L. Zezeck

Mar 7, 1952 - Mar 11, 2024

Sandusky

Mark L. "The Shark" Zezeck, 72, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, March 11, 2024, at his home.

Mark was born March 7, 1952, in Meriden, Connecticut, the son of Harold and Mildred Esther (Meyer)Zezeck. He was a 1970 graduate of OH Platt High School in Meriden, Connecticut. Mark worked as a millwright for New Departure-Hyatt Inc. (a Division of General Motors) for 34 years before retiring in 2006.

In his younger days, he played for a couple of years in the New York Yankees minor league organization. Over the years, he enjoyed playing darts, boating, fishing, and hunting (especially pheasants), but mostly on the weekends, he enjoyed heading out and cruising around in his corvette. Mark was a member of Huron Conservation League.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lynette (Magi) Zezeck, whom he married June 7, 1993; daughter, Ashley (Brandon) Perkins; stepchildren, Donnie (Kelly) Nemitz, Alesha (Jon) Wollenslegel, and Derick Nemitz; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marcia (John) Curtis and Connie (Dan) McDermet; brother, Craig (Jane) Zezeck; and several nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

It was his wish to be cremated. A celebration of Mark's life will be at a later date.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105-9959.

Arrangements have been entrusted to David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.

My sincere condolences to the Zezeck family. I was a member of BSA troop 6 in Meriden all those years ago and what a time we had during those formative years. Great memories. RIP Mark.
