Margaret E. Derubba-Pitz, 80, of Wellington, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, following a short illness.

Margaret was born Nov. 4, 1943, in Clarksfield Township, to Joseph and Treva (Phillips) Nestor. Margaret graduated from Wellington High School in 1961. During her high school years, she was active in the band and attended band camp at Ohio State University. She was involved in 4H and Jr. Fair Queen in 1961. She then attended Ohio State University for one year and sang in the choir. Margaret was an accomplished accordion player and played at many community events. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling between Ohio and Arizona during the winter months. Margaret was well-known for her fabulous hair color and outgoing personality. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her significant other, Fred Pitz; sister, JoAnne Parker; numerous nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Lisa Derubba, James Derubba, and Johnathon Derubba; three stepgrandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Sharon Nestor, Laraine Derubba, Arlene Walters, Loretta Norris, and Elaine "Chick" Damon.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Derubba; stepson, Michael Pitz; and siblings, Nobert Nestor, Norma Jean Jones, Mary Holbrook, Robert Nestor, and Betty Chase.

Margaret's services will be private. A celebration of life will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to your local animal shelter in memory of Margaret.
