Maija Wentworth Obituary

Maija Wentworth (née Ozolins), age 78, of Fallston, Maryland, passed peacefully on December 12, 2025. She was born on July 12, 1947, in Germany, the daughter of the late Alfreds and Elma Ozolins.

Maija is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Michael E. Wentworth; her devoted children, Adam Wentworth, Genisa Linger, and Eric Wentworth and his wife, Michelle; and her cherished grandchildren, Cameron and Honor Linger, and Makayla and Luke Wentworth. She is also survived by her brother, Alex Ozolins; her dear brothers-in-law, Richard Wentworth and Bruce Wentworth (Sandy); and many loving nieces and nephews. Maija was preceded in death by her dear brother, Valdis Ozolins (Joann).

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Maija was a woman of compassion, kindness, and generosity, truly devoted to her family and friends. She was a dedicated member of her community, spending 20 years teaching and nurturing young minds as a proud kindergarten teacher at Youth's Benefit Elementary School, and later transitioning into partial retirement at Homestead Wakefield Elementary School.

Continuing her lifelong commitment to education and service, Maija selflessly dedicated her body to science through the Maryland State Anatomy Board.

The family will hold a celebration of Maija's life at a later date.
