Magdalene Mary (Rodriguez) Dembiec, 74, of Wakeman, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 7, 1948, in Lorain, to Manuel and Ruth (Bane) Rodriguez.
Magdalene graduated from Clearview High School in 1966. She was employed as cashier at Giant Eagle for 25 years and Willow Hardware in Lorain. Magdalene was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wakeman. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, her bunco group, playing Scrabble, cooking, and baking.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, whom she married April 10, 1971; daughters, Gina (Ron) Beal of Wakeman and Mary Dembiec of Reynoldsburg; son, Garrett Dembiec of Wakeman; grandchildren, Nathan Beal (Lydia Bennett), Gage Baldauf, and Elysse Dembiec; siblings, Amancio Aguirre, Tony (Judy) Aguirre, Stephanie (Ernie) Pratt, Carl Rodriguez, Ruth "Cookie" (William) Pabon, Anita (Paul Suckling) Rodriguez, and Kathy Rodriguez; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Magdalene was preceded in death by her siblings, Timothy and Anna Marie Rodriguez.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2023, at Toft Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. Magdalene's funeral will be 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Mel Sayler presiding. Those wishing to contribute to Magdalene's memory may do so to The Salvation Army.
