Lorraine Bleile Obituary

Lorraine Elizabeth Bleile

Apr 3, 1943 - Jul 6, 2024

Norwalk

Lorraine Elizabeth (Seck) Bleile, 81, passed away peacefully with family by her side Saturday, July 6, 2024.

She was born April 3, 1943, in Jersey City, New Jersey. When she was 10 years old, her family moved to Norwalk.

Lorraine was a 1961 graduate of St. Paul High School. It was there where she met the love of her life, Thomas Bleile. They were married June 5, 1965, at St. Paul Church, and the high school sweethearts recently celebrated 59 years of marriage. In her "younger" years, she enjoyed going to teen dances, bowling, playing tennis at Southwood Racquet Club, bridge nights, trips to casinos in Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving wife, awesome mother, and even better Nana.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; their daughter, Kelly (JJ Dete) of Sandusky; their son, Chris (Annie) of Norwalk; four grandchildren, Brandon Bleile (Lauren), Tory Bleile Fries (Josh), and Joslyn and Jillian Dete; four brothers, Joe, Larry (Ruth Ann), Bill (Joyce), and Gene (Vicki) Seck; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Mary Lou (Joe Cazzio), Bob (Mary Kay) Bleile, and Steve (Jackie) Bleile; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lillian Seck; infant son, Thomas Bradley Bleile; brother-in-law, Don Bleile; nephews, Mitch, Jeff, Doug, and Rusty Bleile; niece, Barb Bleile; sister-in-law, Marilyn Seck; and many aunts, uncles, and special friends.

Lorraine's legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with, as well as those she's never met. She taught us many life lessons - to count your blessings every day, to be thankful for everything you have in your life, and to remember that it's never too late to forgive others, but don't procrastinate or you might miss your chance. Lorraine said to take opportunities when they are presented to you and to love yourself and to always strive to be the best version of yourself every day. When her granddaughter interviewed her several years ago for a school project, when asked what her biggest regret was. She said it was not giving enough attention to elderly people. She would want us to do now what she is unable to do. She would want us to go out and make the world a better place, to make a difference in an elderly person's life even if just with a simple smile.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

All are invited to come share your stories of remembrance at a celebration of her life from 1-4 p.m. Thursday at the Expo Building at the front of the Huron County Fairgrounds located on Fair Road in Norwalk, just across the street from the home Tom and Lorraine built and raised their family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Norwalk Area Food Bank, or any organization of your choice.

Lorraine's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Fisher-Titus Medical Center and Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital for their loving care and cooperation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

To Tom, Kelly, Chris and Families
When I moved to Norwalk in 1967, with my wife Margie and daughter Kim, I had an existing connection to the community in that my mother Alice, after my father's death, had married Ira B. (Ike) Hamilton and resided on Southwood Drive. However, it was Tom and Lorraine, along with Greg and Joan HIll, who took charge and made sure that we were properly introduced to the community that I still consider the friendliest and welcoming town that I have ever had the privilege to call home. God bless and comfort you!!

Tom & Lorraine have been friends since we moved to Huron 37 years ago. Always a joy to be around and such good people. We were also fortunate to know their children. Lo will be missed by them and especially Tom. Sadly we won´t be able to attend as Dan´s health won´t allow. Our condolences to the family. May God rest her soul.
