Lisa Gayle (Mattlage) Russell, 67, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024.

She was born Sept. 30, 1956, in Norwalk, to William and Eleanor Elizabeth (Kendall) Mattlage. She was a 1976 graduate of Edison High School and attended EHOVE Career Center. She raised her son and enjoyed spending time with family. She attended Calvary Baptist Church over the years and joined Norwalk Eagles Arie #711 in 1988, where she was an active member.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Walter N. Russell of Norwalk; sister-in-law, Diane Hopkins-Mattlage, niece, Sara; and nephew, Scott.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Norris Russell in 2001; and brother, Stewart Mattlage in 2021.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Lisa's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
