Linda Ann Shibley (née Bremer), 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Lorain, Linda moved to Norwalk in 1962, where she built a life rooted in love, faith, and service. For 62 years, she was a devoted member of Saint Mary the Redeemer Catholic Church, where she found strength and solace in her faith.
Linda dedicated her career to education as a teacher at Lakeview Elementary in Lorain and Monroeville Elementary School. After retirement, she volunteered as an aide at St. Mary Elementary School for several years. Her kindness and commitment left a lasting impact on countless students, and her nurturing spirit extended beyond the classroom to her cherished family.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Michael Shibley, Robert Shibley (Susan Pavlus), and Kimberly Shibley; her grandchildren, Heather Lenhart (Brian Gibbs), Jordan Lenhart (Andre Luckie), Alexander (Abigail) Shibley, Ian Shibley, Emmaleah Shibley, Reagan Shibley, Erin Shibley, Lauren Shibley, and Ryan Shibley; and her great-grandchildren, Cohen Binette, Kylie Gibbs, Peyton Luckie, Brooklynn Luckie, Alivia Fleck, and one on the way!
Linda is also survived by her sister, Carolyn (William) Stough; brother-in-law, James (Valerie) Shibley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Irene Bremer (née Conrad); her daughter, Beth Ann Lenhart (née Shibley); and siblings, Louis Bremer, Noel Bremer, and Marcia Faris.
Linda's family will forever treasure memories of her strength and generosity. Those who knew her will fondly recall her love of reading to her grandchildren, doing crossword puzzles, watching Cleveland Guardians baseball games, game shows, and Hallmark movies. She will be best remembered, perhaps, for her famous brownies she baked for every occasion-a sweet testament to the care she poured into all aspects of her life.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, January, 23, 2025, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025, at Saint Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 38 W. League St., Norwalk, with the Rev. Anthony Recker presiding. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
