Linda A. (Irwin) Cochran, 65, of Willard, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
She was born Aug. 16, 1958, in Cleveland, to Lawrence and Carol (Swanson) Irwin.
Linda graduated Valedictorian from Midview High School in 1976 and received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Ashland University in 1981. She completed a Master's degree in Educational and Instructional Technology from Bowling Green State University in 2008. Linda's teaching career began at South Amherst Schools and then Monroeville. She became an art teacher at Bellevue Local Schools in 1989 and retired after 35 years there and 39 years of teaching. Her yearly art shows were the pride of the school and local community. Linda was Bellevue Middle School Yearbook Advisor, member of Wakeman Congregational Church, former president of Western Reserve Band Boosters, troop leader for Wakeman Girl Scout Troop #090 as well as the Boy Scouts Troop #242, and a friend to anyone that needed one. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing with her husband and family, taking casino trips with friends, loving food, creating art with friends, and attending various concerts and plays.
Linda is survived by her husband, Jon "Mick" Cochran, whom she married Dec. 20, 1987; daughters, Katie Cochran and Amanada (Jeff) Sherrard; son, Michael Cochran; granddaughter, Kayli Sherrard; sister, Laurie (Greg) Irwin-Stockle; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for friends will be 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, until the time of Linda's short memorial service at 7 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman.
Cremation has taken place. Linda's celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at Mufflehead's Brewery in Wakeman.
Those wishing to contribute may donate to the family to help with funeral expenses.
Toft Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, is handling arrangements.
