Lenore M. (Knapp) Remy, 74, of Huron, passed away peacefully late Monday morning, April 1, 2024, at Parkvue Healthcare Center, Sandusky.

Lenore was born Aug. 13, 1949, in Cleveland, the daughter of Leonard Joseph and Helen Sophie (Arcipowski) Knapp. She attended school on Kelleys Island in her elementary years and later graduated from Lakeside High School in 1967 and attended Kent State University for a couple of years. For over 50 years, she worked as a chair side assistant for a variety of local dental offices and later retired from Stefano Dental Office in 2021.

Lenore will be remembered by her family for her love of the water, finding comfort in spending the time going out sailing or kayaking on the lake. Over the years, she also enjoyed working on her patio gardens and decorating for any of the holidays.

She is survived by her son, Travis Sartor of Huron; two sisters, Barb (David Selz) Knapp of Sandusky and Theresa Behrends of Port Clinton; sister-in-law, Elfrid Knapp of Wichita, Kansas; and best friend and companion for almost 20 years, her dog, Izzy.

Lenore was preceded in death by her parents; son, Skyler Sartor; and brother, Ken Knapp.

It was her wish to be cremated. Private family services will be at a later date on Kelleys Island.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Erie County Dog Pound, 2900 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870.

Arrangements have been entrusted to David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
