LaVerne Estelle "Tiny" Bartzen, 97, formerly of Huron and most recent of Tucson, Arizona, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023.
LaVerne was born July 24, 1925, in Pennsylvania. She married John Henry Bartzen on May 28, 1950. They attended United Methodist Church, Huron, until they moved full time to Tucson in 2004. She was very active in the church and was a choir member.
She is survived by her sons, Tony (Sandy) Bartzen of Sandusky, Greg Bartzen of Huron, and Loren (Sara) Bartzen of Tucson, Arizona; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Henry Bartzen in 2010; granddaughter, Stephanie Smith; great-grandson, Howard Bartzen; five brothers; and two sisters.
LaVerne's memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at United Methodist Church, Huron. Pastor Pam Sayre will officiate. A luncheon will follow.
Desert Sunset Funeral Home, Tucson, Arizona, handled arrangements.
Contributions may be made to United Methodist Church or one's favorite charity as LaVerne loved contributing to anyone in need.

Deepest sympathy from the Moberg family. My grandmother (Doris Heinz) and Tiny were good buddies in the park in Tucson. Tiny had a sweet smile and a kind heart. She will be missed!

Loved visiting Sandusky and fishing and boating on Lake Erie! Caught and ate fresh carp. Also enjoyed going to Cedar Point. She and Uncle John were the most accommodating. She will be missed by anyone who met her!
