Duane and my husband Clyde shared many diving experiences and a few Harley rides. He was a genuine nice guy. Our deepest sympathy to all. Linda White

Duane,
Even though at times you seemed to enjoy and embrace being a cantankerous old coot
, we all knew you had a heart of gold.
You probably have no idea how much you were dearly loved and appreciated by me and everyone in your life.
I loved that you were so passionate about your country, and that you served in the United States Marine Corps.
I love that you loved your family beyond measure.
I love that you had a big soft marshmallow heart underneath all that gruff exterior.
I loved how much you enjoyed cooking and especially smoking beef brisket on the back porch smoker.
I remember you bringing some zuppa Tuscany soup to your mom and I for supper one night when I was visiting. I so enjoyed discussing our shared love of cooking and baking. Who knew?
I loved that you watched out for your mom and protected her from harm, domestic and foreign.
I love that you came down and had coffee and visited with her several times a day. You are every mother“s dream.
I am so grateful that you found rest in Jesus. That means you are now catching up on old times with Debbie and your dad.
We will see you on the other side.
Much love and respect.
Your first cousin.
Kim

Duane was a good friend, adventurous, and a Professional Pest. My favorite memory is a Friday night at Reinicks Bar when we were talking about white water rafting, he looked at me and said lets go, right now! We took the brochure and drove through the night to Hico, West Virginia. When we got there, the office was closed. We left a note on the office door telling them we were sleeping on the back porch, and not to leave without us. They woke us up laughing, we signed our Waivers, paid the fees, and off we went. It was one of those special memories, that turned into an annual event.
We recruited others to join us, Gary Long, Amy Long, Mike Freeman, Denny Corrigan, Mike Polardi, Dick Kline, Brad Gerke, Chuck Derby, Gary Austin and many more... It all started with my Buddy !!
