Died: July 2, 2022
Kathryn "Katie" Boesen, 56, of Riverside CA passed away July 2nd at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Riverside CA following an extended illness, with her loving father and brother Ed at her side.
She was born January 20, 1966 in Sterling IL, the only daughter of James and Karen (Carney) Boesen. She attended Wallace Elementary, Challand Middle and Sterling High Schools. She married Kenneth Slusser in 1986 in Sterling. She later married Jose Macedo in 1994. They lived in Cabo San Lucas and Rosarito, Mexico and Riverside CA. She worked as a real estate escrow agent in Moline, IL, Minneapolis MN, San Diego and Norco CA.
She is survived by her parents of Sterling, her daughter Jennifer Slusser and only grandchild Michael Jones of Rockford, and her son Joseph Macedo of Las Vegas NV, along with her brothers Brian Boesen of Titusville FL, Martin (Jeanne) Boesen of Machesney Park, Edward Boesen of Sterling and special friend Marlon (Lonny) Duron of Riverside, for whom she was also a caregiver.
As she elected on her driver's license, eligible organs were made available for transplant. Immediate arrangements are being performed by Arlington Crematorium in Riverside, but there will be no visitation or services there. Family rites will take place at a future date in Sterling, at which time the family will fund a memorial in her honor for the benefit of S-RF YMCA Camp Benson, the source of one of her fondest childhood memories.

I'm so sorry to hear of this. Katie was such a great friend to me. I loved her like a sister that neither of us had. Prayers and hugs to family
