Judith Missig Obituary

Judith Ann Judy Missig

Sep 7, 1940 - Aug 10, 2025

Norwalk

Judith "Judy" Ann (Pierce) Missig, 84, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

She was born September 7, 1940, in Norwalk, to the late Dr. E.R. Pierce and Mabel (Alexander) Pierce. After graduating from Norwalk High School in 1958, she worked for the Norwalk Truck Line. In 1962, she married Kenneth "Kenny" James Missig. They shared a wonderful life together, raising five active children. After the kids were grown, Ken and Judy would be found traveling around the country in their motor home or cruising through Ohio in their Cadillac Eldorado convertible. Their journey together was cut short in 1999 due to Ken's untimely death. After Ken's passing, Judy enjoyed getting together with friends for Friday morning bible study, meeting for coffee and attending monthly luncheons with classmates.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Becky (Tony) Ames, Norwalk, Barb (Doug) Kriebel, Massillon, and Belynda (Lance) Crandall, Sylvania; sons, Bill (Khat) Missig, Boca Raton, Florida, and Bryan (Mary Ross) Missig, Silver Spring, Maryland; her grandchildren, Holly (Joe) Weilnau, Eric (Amanda) Ames, Mallorie and Margaret Kriebel, Brad (Quinn) Crandall, Maddy Crandall, Bryce, Zia and Ayden Missig, Mimi and Will Missig; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Sophia, Ella and Vincent Ames; plus, AJ, Payton and Jonathan Weilnau. Judith is also survived by her brother, William (Jane) Pierce, Fairlawn; her in-laws include Marlene (Bob) Obringer, Marv (Jan) Missig, Jim (Jean) Missig, Bob (Carole) Missig, Susann (Ken) Harris, Donna (Steve) Wilhelm, and Donald (Nancy) Missig.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Allison Marie Missig. Judith's parents, and in-laws, Robert and Laverne Missig, Dorothy Missig and Fred Missig also passed before her.

The family would like to thank Judy's many friends and neighbors who helped to make it possible for her to stay in her own home for so long. Fr. Charles and the St. Joseph lay ministers, NOMS Norwalk Family Practice, especially Dr. Jennifer Allsop and Fisher-Titus Medical Center 3-North nursing staff and Stein Hospice.

Visitation for family and friends will be 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
