Juanita Darlene Wingate, 85, of Middletown, formerly of Monroeville, passed away peacefully Monday, March 3, 2025, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. Juanita was born September 21, 1939, in North Fairfield, the daughter of Donald and Aletha (nee Chase) Howey. She married her husband, Tom Wingate, September 13, 1958. Juanita was a graduate of Norwalk High School and obtained her bachelor's degree in education from Bowling Green State University and worked for many years as a 4th grade teacher for Willard City Schools. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroeville. She loved to read, do beadwork, and spend time with her grandchildren.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom Wingate; and her sister, Sandy Sanders.
She leaves behind her daughters, Brenda (Tim) Gould and Tracy (Darrell) Beckett; sister-in-law, Alice (Charlie) Anderson; grandchildren, Janet Gould, Kylee Beckett, and Chase Beckett; as well as many other family members and friends.
Services are private.
