Aunt Joyce was the best Dutch apple pie baker ever! And because I always let her know that, as a kid, I was certain she brought it to every family reunion just exclusively for me.

I have many fond memories of Joyce. For example, she took on the daunting task of teaching me step by step how to replicate her perfectly canned tomatoes! While most would have shuddered in horror at the mere prospect of boiling jars and clutzy Me in the same proximity; not Joyce! Neither was she shy about whipping my butt during a good game of cards. I miss you, already Lady! I miss you already.
