Joyce June Diezel, 83, of Bellevue, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at Commons of Providence, Sandusky.

She was born Oct. 27, 1940, in Norwalk, the daughter of Clarence and Patricia (Harris) Miller.

Joyce was a secretary and bookkeeper over her lifetime at Western Reserve Schools (Hartland Elementary), Norwalk Raceway Park, Midway Truck Center, Ruffing & Lynch Law Firm, and Foos and Son Funeral Home.

She loved crafts, sewing, cooking, and her Yorkies, BJ and Duke, who have preceded her in death.

Everyone who entered her home was considered family and she would try to feed you something homemade every five minutes you were in her home. She told her grandchildren that ice cream was dairy so of course they could have ice cream for breakfast. She made the best bunny pancakes and absolutely loved to teach her grandchildren to cook and craft. These are just a very few of the things that made Joyce a truly loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her son, Timothy (Allison) Grys; daughter, Theresa (Mike) Schieber; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Grys; son, Theodore Grys; grandchildren, Nicole, Nathan (Lindsey), Timothy, Tyler (Ashley), Audrey (Tyler), and Daniel (Danielle); great-grandchildren, Grayson, Hudson, Silas, Sullivan, Beau, and one more little bundle of joy due soon; sisters, Judith (Gary) Wolfe and Janice Roberts; and many other nieces and nephews.

Joyce was also preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eric Diezel, whom she married Oct. 2, 1982, at First Presbyterian Church, Norwalk; and stepfather, Jimmy Dyer.

Joyce's celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Global Methodist Church, 4997 CR 183, Clyde, Ohio, 43410. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the donor's favorite charity.
