Jo Ann I. (Ostheimer) Flahiff, 80, of Gibsonburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at home with her husband and family at her side.

Jo Ann was born Oct 2, 1942, one of three children of the late Bernard C. and Norma J.(McGrady) Good.

Jo Ann graduated from Clyde High School in 1960 before going on to attend Providence School of Nursing and Bowling Green State University Firelands Campus. She worked as a secretary for the Rogers Group.

Jo Ann married Richard Flahiff on July 25, 1993, in Gibsonburg.

Jo Ann was a homemaker with many talents. Jo Ann was a girl scout leader for many years and enjoyed sharing demonstrations of Early American crafts and arts for local organizations including quilting, cornhusk dolls, apple head dolls, and tatting. She also loved bobbin lace, canning, and helping her husband with the details on some of his refurbished antique tractors. She was a member of Red Hat Society, and together, Jo Ann and Richard were members of SCRAP and Power of Yesteryear. Jo Ann also loved spending time with her numerous grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard; children, Edward C. Ostheimer II (Steven P. Andres) of Sandusky, Kathleen (Steven) Tullio of Springhill, Florida, Jeffrey S. (Diane) Ostheimer of Sandusky, Nicole (James) King of Castalia, Amy Jordan of Castalia, Joseph Flahiff of Ashtabula, Thomas Flahiff of Gibsonburg, Julie (Ned Fairbanks II) Fairbanks of Pemberville, and Jeanette (Robert) Kiser of Wenatchee, Washington; siblings, Barbara Fisher of Fremont and Bernard Good of Monroeville; and sisters-in-law, Martha Camden (David Gable) of Gibsonburg and Nancy Francis of Fremont.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Norma; son-in-law, William Jordan; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Flahiff; brothers-in-law, William Wise and David Francis; and sister-in-law, Eileen Wise.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2023, at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg. Jo Ann's funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Saints Michael and Lawrence Cemetery, Gibsonburg.

Donations in Jo Ann's name may be made to Humane Society of Sandusky County.

I have a fond memory of Jo Ann when she was in nursing school. I was a patient there; 13 years old, and was in there for 3 months. She was one of the nursing students who used to come and visit me when she had time and play cards with me. She was very special. Sending prayers for the whole family at this difficult time.
