James "Jim" Turrittin, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Avon Oaks Nursing Home.

Jim was born June 13, 1931, in Norwalk, to Phila and William "Pete" Turrittin.

Jim was the loving husband of Lucy (nee Nichols, deceased) for almost 60 years, father of Tammy (Jerry) Macek, Rebecca (Mike) Amon, and Timothy (Brigid), grandfather of Lieutenant Commander Jacob Amon, USNA (Zoe), Taylor Amon (Lily), Emily Amon, Carli, Page, and Will Turrittin, great-grandfather of Rory, Mattis, and Beau Amon, son of the late Phila (nee Witzlaben) and William "Pete" Turrittin, and brother of the late Constance Barilka (nee Turrittin).

Jim served as Norwalk High School Class of 1949 President and was a cheerleader and owner of the team's mascot, "Billy" the goat. Over the years, Jim organized and attended many of the formal and informal gatherings and reunions for the class of 1949. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from the College of Wooster and Master's from Case Western Reserve University. He was an U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was an extraordinary teacher and salesman who worked most of his career in educational publishing sales and management.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake, Ohio, 44012. Jim's memorial service and lunch will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, at Christ Church Westshore Anglican Church, 726 Avon Belden Rd., Avon Lake, 44012.
