James Silver Obituary

James Silver

Oct 11, 1949 - May 26, 2025

Huron

James T. Silver passed away peacefully Monday, May 26, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by family and love. He was born in Pennsylvania and raised in Huron, Ohio.

Jim had a lifelong passion for fast cars-especially Corvettes. Over the course of his life, he owned 20 of them and could talk about them for hours. If it had horsepower, he was interested. When he wasn't on the road, he was on Lake Erie, boating with a cold Budweiser in hand-his version of perfect peace.

He was known for his quick wit, kind heart, and generosity. Jim loved making people laugh and was always ready to lend a hand or offer honest advice. Many considered him an inspiration and someone you could always count on.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Dianna Silver, Sheri Lamb (Brad Allen), and Christine Brausch (Jon Brausch); his grandchildren, Michael Delahunt, Timothy Delahunt, and Katy Lamb; his sister, Amy Silver; his nephew, Conor McPartland; and his niece, Alanna Covington.

Shortly after the passing of his wife, Barbara, Jim rescued a beautiful black-and-white cat named Lucy, who became his loyal and constant companion. He adored her, and she brought him peace and comfort in his later years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara; and his brother, Tom Silver.

Oh-and if you thought he had brown hair, surprise: it was gray all along. He just didn't let us see it until the end.

A Celebration of Life will be from 10-noon Saturday, June 7, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stein Hospice in his honor.

Foster Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.

Do I know Jim. Only for about 50 years. So we kinda grew up together starting after we were old enough to know better. Ha. Yes I rode in some of his Corvettes, pounded boat waves, and toasted the world under the hot sun it at favorite gathering spots. Family gatherings. FL & MI couple vacations, together (Silvers, Blaine´s, Stephens´). Good memories. That´s life. We shared our lives. That´s good life. God Bless you Jim. You are in good hands. Rest well our friend.

He was such a kind man. When I was in high school and on crutches, so not permitted to ride the bus he picked me up and gave me a ride everyday. I have never forgotten his generosity.

I´ve known Jil since we both lived on 46th street before moving to Autumn drive . Having a hot car,Shelby Cobra. Made it easy to recruit Jim and Butch Allendorf To was it in exchange for a ride and laying some scratch. We remained friends all these years later. Our common bond was hot cars. Rest in peace Jimmy and get together with Butch once in awhile. Rest in Peace.
