Met Jim during our career journey starting while he was with Delaware PD. As he moved from there our paths seemed to cross again at different times and different reasons, some personal some professional. He was looked upon as a knowledgable leader, always willing to help others for the greater cause of public safety. Sad to hear of his passing. May you be comforted at this time by your faith, family and friends.

After I retired from CPD in 06 Jim was head of security at The Supreme Court of Ohio and gave me a job at the court. We became good friends. I will miss him, prayers to Teresa and his family.

I´m Retired Major Greg Englund from the Huron County Sheriff´s office. I have known Jim for over almost 40 years . Jim and I were friends for all those years. He was a very smart intelligent, and pleasant person. I know he loved his family. He is a great loss to all friends and family and he will be truly missed but at home with the Lord our God in heaven. RIP Jim!

I lived across the street from Jim when he lived in Delaware, Ohio. At the time, both of us were police officers, Jim was working for the city of Delaware, and I was an Ohio State Trooper. We had some good times together talking about work and sharing experiences. Jim was a good man and a good neighbor. We didn't keep in touch as much in the later years. I'm sure he will be missed by all that knew him.

The only thing that truly needs to be said is that Jim was a good man. I hadn't known him very long, just about a year, and we truly didn't interact regularly but for the last four months. I can truly say however, that Jim became more than just someone I worked with. He was a friend. We would talk daily, mostly not work related. Sometimes about family, philosophy, or just the things we had going. He was a kind person and someone who had an impact on the lives of many people. He will truly be missed by me and I pray for him and his family whom he truly loved.

Last year, at our 50th class reunion, Jim brought a bottle of whisky (Crown Royal?), but wouldn't let us open it. He had us all sign it, and said we would open it at our next reunion, and raise a glass to the classmates we lost. I guess we'll be raising it for you, Jim. I won't wait. I'm raising one to you today. Here's to all the great rides we had, since those first bikes in High School. and Here's to the hope that we'll ride together again someday over the sunset, where the riding is always good.
