Helen Irene "Jinx" Mutchler, 84, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024. Jinx was the daughter of Harry and Beryl (nee Fair) Couch. Born in East Liverpool, Ohio, she later moved with her husband Jim to Northeast Ohio and spent most of her adult life living in Norwalk and later in Avon.
Jinx loved children and, for several years, provided in-home childcare for many of the young families working in the Huron County School System. She was an avid reader and loved to play cards and board games. She also loved the beaches of South Carolina and regularly spent the winter months with her husband, Jim, at Pauley's Island, South Carolina.
Jinx is survived by her loving children, Matt (Marybeth) Mutchler, Molly (Shawn) Postich, and Kate (John) Mullins; beloved grandchildren, Dan (Brittney), Brad (Tricia), Steve (Kim), Geralyn, Ryan, Alex, John Paul, Tyler, Katalin (Justin), and Kelsey; and 16 cherished great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years Jim Mutchler; parents, Harry and Beryl Couch; and siblings, Beverly Couch and Dave Couch.
Memorial contributions can be made to Love-A-Stray Dog Division, PO Box 125, Avon Lake, OH 44012.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd, North Ridgeville, OH 44039. www.buschcares.com 440-937-6175

I knew the Mutchler family growing up in Norwalk as Matt was on of my great friends and in my class.
Mrs. Mutchler was a contributing adult in my life at the Norwalk City pool, through school and all the sports Matt and I played together during our childhood years.
Mrs. Mutchler was very kind and generous with me and certainly was a positive influence in my up bringing. I will always have a place in my heart for her and Jim. My God be with them both as they now are reunited.
