Harold Dean Paramore, 78, of Ashland, died Saturday, January 4, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 24, 1946, on the family farm where he was raised, and he graduated from New London High School in 1964. A veteran of the United States Army, he proudly served from 1966 to 1968 spending most of his time in Germany.
After returning home from his time in the service, he settled down and married his sweetheart, Susan Marie Crabbs on July 1, 1968. Together they would have three children, Charles (Christina) Paramore of Nova, Tami (Edward) Schoville of New London and Robert (Tara) Paramore of Nova.
Harold was an incredibly hard working and kind man who would lend a hand to anyone in need and took great pride in providing for his family. When he had spare time, he loved to fish, but what he enjoyed even more was spending quality time with those he loved most. His family and friends were the most important part of his life.
Left to cherish Harold's memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Susan; and their three children, Charles, Tami and Robert; as well as their grandchildren, Justin (Justine) Paramore of Savannah, Zachary Paramore of Nova, Casey Sparr of Nova, Katelyn (Ross) Patton of Cincinnati, Bayleigh (Joseph) Kerschner of Hartford City, Indiana, Brooklyn Paramore of Crestline, Brian Paramore of Mansfield, Emma Paramore of Polk, Aubreigh Ayers of Ashland, Lauryn Ayers of Nova, and Saige Ayers; and great-grandchildren, Nolen Sparr, Kaelynn Paramore, Hyleigh Paramore and Bryson Paramore. Surviving siblings include Jean Taylor of Norwalk, Eleanor Russ and Lennie Burke of Idaho, Marilyn Williams of Oklahoma, and June Keister of Florida; brothers, Marion Paramore of New London, Mark (Patricia) Paramore of Virginia and Richard Paramore of Arizona; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edgar Crabbs, Jim (Anne) Crabbs, Marcia Edwards, Doris (Dean) Divins and Jill Paramore.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Ellen Paramore; mother and father-in-law, Charles and Evelyn Crabbs, brothers, Robert, Arthur, Lawrence and Jim; sisters, Mary White and Bonnie Davis; brothers-in-law, Carl Crabbs, Dennis Edwards and Jack Taylor; and sisters-in-law, Jane Gainey, Thelma Paramore and Mary Jo Paramore.
Family and friends are invited to visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, OH 44851. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at Ashland Memorial Park, Ashland.
