Harold D. Kirkpatrick, 95, of New London, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at Mercy New Life Hospice, Lorain.
He was born Nov. 8, 1927, in New London Township, to the late Mary Alice (Tindale) and Earl Kirkpatrick. Harold graduated from New London High School in 1945 and earned a business degree from The Ohio State University. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Firelands Electric Cooperative in 1985 as Director of Finance and Accounting.
Harold was a member of New London United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir and served as treasurer and historian for many years. He belonged to Mensa International, New London American Legion, Masons, and was a charter member of New London Area Historical Society. His hobbies included photography, genealogy, local history, and he had a real passion for performing in amateur theater.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lillian (Davidson) Kirkpatrick, whom he married in 1954; son, Andrew Kirkpatrick of Sandusky; four nieces; and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Kirkpatrick; and siblings, Kenneth, John, and Robert Kirkpatrick, and Mary Ruth Brumby.
Harold's memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at New London United Methodist Church, 58 E. Main Street, New London, Ohio, 44851, with Pastor Kristen Buchs officiating.
The staff of Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, assisted family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions can be made to New London United Methodist Church or New London Area Historical Society, 13 E. Main Street, New London.
