Greta Y. Scheid, 96, of Monroeville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at Willows in Willard.

She was born on Oct. 19, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, to Wilbur and Helen (Ingold) Heyman.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Monroeville. Greta loved cats, gardening, puzzles and crafts.

She is survived by her three children, Karen Hainline of Norwalk, Lowell John Scheid of Curtice, Ohio and Kirk Scheid of Monroeville; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law.

In addition to her parents, Greta was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Scheid; son, Fred Scheid; sister, Helen Doty; son-in-law, Arnold Gene Hainline; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Scheid.

All services for Greta will be private. Burial will be at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Monroeville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Humane society.

In Memory of Greta
On behalf of the entire Buckeye Hospice Team, it was our privilege and honor to provide care for Greta during her final journey. Her strength, grace, and spirit touched each of us deeply, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of her life in such a meaningful way. We offer our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time. Please know that our thoughts are with you, and we hope you find comfort in the cherished memories you shared with her.
